Volunteering with CCHP

CCHP works with over 100 volunteers to enable the project to run each winter.

No special qualifications or experience are needed to volunteer with CCHP – just a friendly interest in people and a willingness to commit time to the project. Most of our volunteers come from churches and Beth Shalom synagogue but we work with people of all faiths and none. We all share the CCHP ethos and values.

All volunteers must have attended compulsory training before being added to a rota.

The project runs continuously from the beginning of November to the end of March.

Expectations of volunteers:

  • To attend our volunteers’ training evening to ensure you understand how the project works and what your role within it will be.

  • To agree that you will work within the policies and values of CCHP.

  • To allow CCHP to hold information about you ensuring that we are GDPR compliant.

  • To volunteer for evenings that you can commit to.

  • To speak to a member of Crossways staff or a CCHP trustee if you have any concerns or worries about guests or other volunteers.

  • To attend an evening only if you are on rota for that evening.
