Pop-Up Exhibition on Homelessness

In June 2025, our friends at St Barnabas Church kindly helped us to host an interactive exhibition on the theme “What does homelessness mean to you?”

Nearly two dozen artists from and connected to the homeless community displayed pieces in response to the question.

Submissions ranged from thought-provoking paintings, to prayerfully hand-crafted sculptures, to chaotic collaboration pieces.

It was also a chance for people to sample preview material from our new educational course on homelessness.

On both days of the exhibition, attendees enjoyed a two-course community lunch cooked by a team of housed and unhoused volunteers.

The 150 visitors to the exhibition were all given a chance to submit their written answer to the question “What does homelessness mean to you?”

Answers ranged from “despair” and “a pit with no ladder” to “freedom” and “community”

What do you think? What does homelessness mean to you?
